Supports for Individuals and Properties
Each of the below types of expenses have their own respective lifetime budget allowances. Eligible expenses made in these categories will not impact the budget available to a household for the standard Bridge expenses.
Property Administrative Support is meant to be used as an incentive for properties to consider participation in the program. It should only be paid out after the inspection has been passed and the lease has been signed. The amount is capped at $750 per year, allowing it to also be used for their second lease year. This is being provided in acknowledgement of the administrative requirements that come with participating in the program, such as program inspections and their associated wait times.
Inspection Repair Costs can be used to support properties in their ability to make repairs that they may otherwise not be able or willing to make, and which would prevent the property from passing the necessary Housing Quality Standards inspection. They are of course not to be used for non-essential repairs or upgrades to the property. This should be utilized when encountering a new unit for an individual and not for repairs caused by an individual. It is an incentive meant to help bring new properties into the program.
Eviction Prevention is meant to help keep an individual housed in their unit and to maintain strong relationships with properties by allowing DBHDD to pay for damages caused during an individual's stay that would otherwise result in their eviction by the property or that property's future nonparticipation in the program.

Security Deposit Budget: $2,500
In FY23, DBHDD removed 'Security Deposits' from the combined household maximum due to market trends that led to rising cost of security deposits, in order to preserve availability of funds meant to help furnish households.

Household Basics Budget: $3,000
As of April 2023, the household basics budget was increased from $2,500 to $3,000 to reflect rising costs.

- The balance does not renew annually.

Provider Fees and Rental Payments via Bridge
